Templeton residents can get free compost material throughout the month of May, according to a news release.

North County Recycling/Mid-State Solid Waste & Recycling and the Templeton Community Service District have partnered in the service, where customers can pick up one free yard of compost in exchange for dropping off one pickup truck load of clean green waste at 3360 La Cruz Way. The entrance is on Marquita Avenue.

Plastic bags, pet waste and trash are not allowed.

Pick up and drop off times are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. A personal ID is required. For more information, call 434-0043 or 434-9112.
