Letter to the Editor

The ideal type

San Luis ObispoMay 19, 2013

As a former SLO Chamber of Commerce president, SLO councilman and longtime business owner, I know what it takes to balance the need for economic vitality with protecting our quality of life and preserving the environment that makes this an extraordinary community.

That is why I support Carlyn Christianson for City Council. Carlyn is the candidate who has proven she understands our economy, our built environment and our quality of life are not competing interests but mutually dependent objectives. In addition, she knows how to lead in a way that assures a shared vision of our community’s future.

Carlyn puts her time where her heart is. She served on the SLO city Planning Commission for four years and currently serves on the county Planning Commission. She is working on the city’s land use update. She does all this and more while excelling at her “real job” managing a large medical practice.

I have seen Carlyn work through tough, controversial issues. She handles each issue with fairness, dedication and integrity, approaching each challenge with an open mind. She is the ideal type for councilperson.

Please join me in voting for Carlyn Christianson to be our next SLO city councilperson.
