AGHS boys tennis team wins Southern Section championship over SLO

The Arroyo Grande High School boys tennis team won all nine singles sets Friday to down San Luis Obispo 13-5 in an all-PAC 7 CIF-Southern Section Division 3 championship match at the Claremont Club in Claremont.

It was the Eagles' third win over San Luis Obispo this season.

Eli Whittle, Sean Hollister and Derek Lakowske led the way for Arroyo Grande in singles. Those three lost only seven games in their nine sets. Whittle, Hollister and Lakowske all defeated San Luis Obispo's Mason Hansen 6-2. The Tigers won only one other singles game when Lakowske defeated Nick Johnson 6-1.

In doubles, Luke Iunker and Noah Cleere won all three of their sets for San Luis Obispo. The Tigers' doubles team of Josh Milla and Scott Hicks won two of their three sets.
