Starting July 1, Charlotte Alexander will take over as festival director of the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, the festival said Friday.

Wendy Eidson, who used to have that position, has become artistic director.

The change means that Eidson, who has run the film festival since 2006, will now focus on year-round programming and marketing, while Alexander will oversee fundraising, grant-writing and administrative duties.

The film festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year; the event is set for March 5-9, 2014.
