Pismo Beach has opening on city's special events committee

May 15, 2013

Pismo Beach is accepting applications from local residents interested on serving on the city’s special events committee.

The advisory group establishes the process to permit special events conducted by private entities that use the city’s streets, facilities or services, according to a news release.

The committee includes two community members as well as a mid-manager or supervisor from the city’s fire, police and public works departments, the community development director or his designee, one representative from the city’s Conference & Visitor's Bureau and one person from the Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Currently, there is one community member spot vacant. There are no term limits for the position.

The committee meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. at city hall, 760 Mattie Road. Interested applicants must be at least 18 years old and live in the city.

Applications are available at http://www.pismobeach.org, or by calling or visiting the city clerk’s office at city hall. City Clerk Elaina Cano can be reached at 773-7003.

The Pismo Beach City Council will make an appointment at a future meeting.
