Hasay takes fifth in 1,500 at Pac-12 championships

Former Mission Prep standout and current Oregon senior Jordan Hasay finished fifth in the 1,500 meters Sunday at the Pac-12 track and field championships at USC.

Hasay posted a time of 4 minutes, 15.53 seconds, just behind Utah’s Amanda Mergaert (fourth, 4:15.45) and Oregon’s Anne Kesselring (third, 4:15.44). Arizona State’s Shelby Houlihan set a meet record with her winning time of 4:14.84.

Oregon won the women’s title with 139 points, ahead of Arizona’s 123.

UCLA’s Annie Mooney, a former high school teammate of Hasay, took 13th in the 5,000 with a time of 17:11.71. She helped the Bruins finish fourth with 87.33 points.

Colorado finished 10th with 32 points, nine of which came from former San Luis Obispo High standout Abrianna Torres, who took seventh in the long jump and third in the heptathlon during the first part of the meet May 5.
