Stop making mess

CambriaMay 10, 2013

In regard to roadway chip sealing by Caltrans: Any competent engineer could have predicted that the chip-seal process would cause damage to cars and motorcycles and be dangerous to bicyclists. The economic impact of this is very clear.

In addition, I think the rough surface causes loud noise in vehicles and causes other environmental damage due to more fuel consumed per mile, which produces extra carbon dioxide and the extra tire wear, sending more particulate matter into the air.

Hopefully the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments will consider this also and send a signal to Caltrans to clean up its act and stop making a patched-up mess of our roadways.
