A Heritage Ranch man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon after an apparent dispute between three people at a home in the 1400 block of Gateway Drive.

Daniel Conrad Juhl, 54, remained in San Luis Obispo County Jail on Thursday evening in lieu of $25,000 bail.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting an assault about 1:15 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found Robert Criste Curran Jr., 55, with a knife wound on one side of his neck, according to a news release.

Curran, also of Heritage Ranch, near Nacimiento Lake, was taken to a local hospital with injuries to his throat. He is expected to survive.

An investigation revealed there had been a verbal argument at the home between two siblings and their roommate. The reason for the argument was unclear, but it escalated into violence, according to sheriff’s officials.
