Van Halen to play concert at Mid-State Fair this summer

Legendary hard rock band Van Halen will invite fans to “Dance the Night Away” this summer when it performs at the California Mid-State Fair.

The band joins an entertainment lineup that includes country star Tim McGraw, singer-songwriter John Mayer and '80s pop-rock band Huey Lewis and the News. Also scheduled to perform are country trio Rascal Flatts and alternative rock bands Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls.

Best known for the hit songs “Hot for Teacher,” “Jump” and “Runnin’ With the Devil,” Van Halen has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide. The band, which recently reunited with original frontman David Lee Roth, is currently touring in support of its 2012 album, “A Different Kind of Truth.”

Van Halen performs July 24 at the Chumash Main Grandstand Arena at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles.

Tickets are $50 to $180.
