Motorcyclists to stop at dog park social

Vineyard Dog Park will hold a coffee social from 9 to 11 a.m. May 18.

Participants can watch and cheer the 200 motorcyclists who will be stopping at the park along the route for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. There will be coffee, pastries, juice and good conversation. The riders are to arrive about 10:30 a.m. For more information, visit http://www.parks4pups.org.

Walk/Run with Fido

The Fire Hydrant 5K on June 1 is adog-friendly course in Pismo Beach, which starts and finishes at Dinosaur Caves Park. All participants will receive a T-shirt, pet bandanna and doggie bag. The dog-centered expo will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the park. Sign up for doggie contests and enjoy dog demonstrations like agility and flyball. Walk/run entrance fees are $25 before May 12, $30.
