Fire scorches 5 acres on Edna Ranch near SLO

Cal Fire is fighting a 5-acre grass fire on Edna Ranch off Orcutt Road near San Luis Obispo.

The fire had been heading uphill toward some brush, but firefighters have stopped its spread. The blaze started at 12:49 p.m. and the cause is unknown.

Cal Fire has responded with six wildland engines, a bulldozer and other equipment. Firefighting aircraft were also called in but were diverted to a fire in Monterey County.
