Juries for citizens

TempletonApril 28, 2013

A bill in the Legislature would make California the first state to allow legal immigrants to serve on juries — not just citizens.

We need to preserve our country in such a way as to make citizenship what it was and always has been — something of which to be proud, coming with responsibilities and privileges, as it were. And yes, it is a privilege to sit on a jury — to be chosen to thoughtfully decide how to uphold the laws.

Sorry, folks, but those kinds of privileges and responsibilities should only come with full citizenship.
