A 17-year-old male was beaten and robbed of his skateboard in downtown San Luis Obispo on Friday night, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

The victim was walking through a city parking lot on Broad Street between Marsh and Higuera streets at 10:45 p.m. when a man approached him and demanded his skateboard. When the victim refused, he was struck in the face, and, after falling to the ground, kicked.

The assailant then fled with the skateboard in a Nissan Altima.

The suspect is described as a 30-year-old male with face and neck tattoos. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds.

Witnesses at the scene said the man was challenging others to fight and yelling “Bakersfield.”
