Arroyo Grande ties Pioneer Valley in baseball

Kyle Brown, Cole Steverson and Chris Davidson combined to pitch 12 innings for the Arroyo Grande High baseball team, but the Eagles couldn’t walk away with a win in a 1-1 tie with Pioneer Valley on Friday.

The three gave up no earned runs, had nine strikeouts and one walk for Arroyo Grande (12-6-2, 7-3-2 PAC 7).

Righetti 3, Paso Robles 2

Kris Pequeno went 2 for 2 with two runs, but the Bearcats fell to the Warriors.

Jonathan Baldwin pitched six innings, gave up two earned runs on four hits. He also had four walks and four strikeouts for Paso Robles (5-15, 1-11 PAC 7).

Atascadero 4, St. Joseph 2

Joe Johnson was 2 for 3 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored to lead the Greyhounds to finish off a sweep of the Knights in Atascadero.

Garrett Mills was 3 for 3 with a double and Bryan Kirkpatrick was 1 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI for the Greyhounds (11-10-1, 6-5-1 PAC 7).

Holden Nix pitched a complete game in the win for Atascadero, giving up two runs on three hits and striking out three.

Bishop Diego 5, Templeton 4

Michael Frigon went 2 for 3, but the Eagles fell to Bishop Diego.

Andy Garretson and Tyrus Yamagata both had an RBI.

Mitchell Pendley pitched four innings and gave up one earned one.

Coast Union 20, Coastal Christian 6, 5 innings

Austin Eide was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI for the Broncos.

Tommy Howard and Quinton Raethke added two hits each for Coast Union (8-5, 7-0 CVL), with both recording a double and two RBI.
