Missed trash pick up

April 25, 2013

On Friday, March 16, our trash and recycle bins were patiently awaiting their regular morning pick up. All the houses in the 300 block of Drake Street in Cambria had dutifully lined up the trash bins, green waste and recycle. Somehow out of the entire pick ups our trash bin was missed and was still full at the end of the day on Friday!

Saturday morning I called Mission Country Disposal (the billing statement lists a Cambria number), was asked to leave a message as the business hours are 9-5 Monday through Friday. Their message said that someone would return the call on the first business day.

Much to my surprise, Monday morning at 9:35 a.m. I received a call from Marty at Mission Country, and I confirmed our missed trash pick-up.

At 10:30 a.m. I received a second call saying a truck was on the way to pick up the trash! The truck with a very pleasant driver was at the driveway five minutes later to do the pick-up.

In our busy and sometimes impersonal world it is certainly refreshing to work with a company and their personnel who are doing such a great job with customer service.

Thanks, Marty and crew.
