Since July 1975, I have lived next door to the Godfrey Ranch, which is a portion of the proposed Spanish Springs development. In the April 17 edition of The Tribune, there was a full-page advertisement promoting the benefits to the whole community of the Spanish Springs project to be annexed by Pismo Beach. In addition to the advertisement, there was a four-column Viewpoint article by one of the owners of the Spanish Springs project, advising there had been 35 community forums outlining the benefits to the community.
As an adjacent property owner, I was notified of one meeting May 19, 2012 after which I was visited by a representative from Oasis Associates. I was shown a May 2, 2012, drawing with my property looking into the backyards of homes facing a road in front of them. On July 30, 2012, a revised plan was sent to me indicating there would now be inserted a 10-foot-wide equestrian trail between our property and the proposed houses along approximately 1,200 feet of our common property line.
The purpose of this letter is to show that changes by the developer are not always in the best interest of the neighbors.
