Rice’s kindness

Avila BeachApril 25, 2013

I am writing this letter to support Kevin Rice for San Luis Obispo City Council. I would like to share this act of kindness.

On March 14, I was involved in an accident on Highway 101. I was traveling south just before the San Luis Bay Drive offramp when I attempted to change lanes and lost control of the car. The car turned over and landed upside down.

Kevin was going north on Highway 101 and saw my car on the opposite side of the highway and got off and turned around. He then came back to help. He saw me upsidedown in my car, hanging from my seatbelt. He climbed in the back of the SUV and stayed with me until firefighters arrived and turned the car rightside up and cut me out with jaws of life. He talked with me the whole time and kept me calm. Without his help, I am sure my injuries would have been much worse.

Anyone who would put themselves at risk for another person is truly a sincere, compassionate person and surely would do his best for the city of San Luis Obispo.
