A suspicious package found at Sinsheimer Pool in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday evening was not dangerous, according to Sgt. Janice Goodwin with the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

Police had evacuated Sinsheimer Pool after a suspicious package was found in the parking lot around 6:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Fred Mickel of the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

A bomb squad was called to the scene after a bomb technician decided the package, a box wrapped in duct tape, should be more closely inspected, Mickel said.

The package was inspected by the bomb squad and determined not to be dangerous at 8:45 p.m., Goodwin said.

Police responded to the scene after someone called in about the package.
