A yearlong project in rural Paso Robles to replace the Estrella River Bridge is set to begin today, according to a recent Caltrans news release.

A 24/7 closure of the frontage road near Highway 46 between Estrella River Road and Whitley Gardens Drive is expected to last until spring 2014.

Electronic message boards and detour signs will be posted to assist motorists in the Whitley Gardens area.

The contractor for the $4.3 million project is Souza Construction of San Luis Obispo.
