Lucas Martin led the way for the Cuesta College baseball team Saturday, pitching a complete game in a 3-2 win at Ventura and giving the Cougars their eighth straight win.

Martin scattered eight hits over nine innings, walking one and striking out another.

Andrew Motanari and Zach Domingues had two hits for Cuesta (18-5, 12-5 Western State Conference), and Parker Hindle, Mac Stuart and Scott Shields each had an RBI for the Cougars. Spencer Ruggles added a double for Cuesta.

Ventura trailed the Cougars 3-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning, and after pulling within 3-2, had the bases loaded with two outs. Martin induced a line drive out to second baseman Marco Murillo to get out of the jam.
