After losing its first seven matches this season, the Bronco boys tennis team got a win Monday, April 15, against Templeton. In the 11-7 victory, the doubles team of Miles Trevelyan and Daniel Gowdy won their first match of the year.

“It’s a frustrating thing when you get beat bad a lot,” said coach Ron Ruggles. “But the boys were so happy yesterday. It’s great to see it in their eyes.”

Top seed John McElgunn won his set, 6-0, 6-0, and Ruggles said McElgunn “pretty much has to win the rest of his matches” in order to qualify for a CIF playoff slot.

On Tuesday, April 16, McElgunn won two of three singles sets but the Broncos lost to Orcutt, 16-2.
