Paso Robles police announce officers on new drug and gang team

The Paso Robles Police Department has announced the officers who are on its new Special Enforcement Team, which has been set up to combat illegal drugs and gang activity.

The team is comprised of two full-time officers reassigned from the patrol division: Sgt. Tod Rehner, a 15-year veteran, and Detective Tony Ruiz, an 18-year veteran, according to a recent news release from the Police Department.

The proactive unit will focus on addressing street-level crime associated with drugs and gangs in the city of Paso Robles.

The team will also act as a liaison between the Paso Robles Police Department and the San Luis Obispo County Drug and Gang Task Force.
