The Cal Poly softball team salvaged the final game of a three-game series Sunday at Cal State Northridge, earning Mustangs head coach Jenny Condon her 100th Big West Conference victory.

Sophomore left-hander Chloe Wurst pitched a complete game, and senior center fielder Whitley Gerhart provided the winning run in a 2-1 victory with a second-inning solo home run.

Junior second baseman Ashley Romano had a team-high two hits for Cal Poly (17-26, 6-8 Big West), and Condon became the conference’s 10th softball coach to reach the century mark.

The Matadors (17-25, 3-7 Big West) were held scoreless after a run-scoring base hit in the bottom of the first inning. The Mustangs took the early lead with a sacrifice fly by junior catcher Mariah Cochiolo in the top of the first.
