County food bank seeks summer help

The Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County is accepting help from businesses and services groups for its “Lovin’ Lunchbox” program, which delivers healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks to children during the summer.

This year, the program will serve South County children thanks to a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of South San Luis Obispo County in Oceano.

Boys & Girls Club members are expected to serve up to 200 students per week at three sites during the summer months. Last year, the Food Bank Coalition served at six locations and is hoping to offer 12 this year.
