A project to repair and repave a nine-mile section of Highway 101 in the South County continues in two days, according to a news release from Caltrans.

Overnight work to replace the bridge rails from the Los Berros Road undercrossing to the Pismo Creek Bridge is scheduled to resume from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday.

A hydraulic ram and drilling equipment will also be used, which Caltrans says will be noisy for nearby residents.

The work is part of a larger $6.7 million project that began in 2011 that has included a complete resurfacing of the highway, installation of drainage pipes and improvements to the highway shoulders.

The contractor is Cal Portland Construction of Santa Maria.
