Willing to change

Grover BeachApril 1, 2013

The March 26 Trib carried an article about former President Bill Clinton’s comment to a friend that he was “personally embarrassed and remorseful” that he had signed DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act).

Clinton was described as having “evolved” in his thinking. It appears from the polls of the American people that he is not alone in his evolution.

How refreshing to have someone in the highest office in the land acknowledge that new or additional information is a reason for changing one’s beliefs and/or actions.

So different than Dick Cheney’s avowal that he would make the same decision/ recommendation today regarding the war in Iraq.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
