Cal Poly's Guerrero wins the 800 meters at Stanford Invitational

On Saturday at the Stanford Invitational, Cal Poly’s John Guerrero won the men’s 800 meters in 1 minute, 50.99 seconds, giving him the 15th fastest time in the nation, according to a Cal Poly news release.

Kendal Nielsen placed third in the women’s triple jump with a leap of 38 feet, 9 inches while Brian Hutchinson placed third in the men’s shot put (50-8) for Cal Poly.

Clara Davis placed second in the pole vault (12-0 3-4) for the Mustangs.

Late Friday night, Cal Poly’s Chris Frias placed sixth in the men’s 10,000 with a time of 29:33, followed by teammate Sean Davidson, who placed eighth (29:35). Both runners set personal records.
