The Cal Poly softball team swept a doubleheader at Cal State Fullerton on Friday, grinding out a 1-0 win before defeating the Titans 3-2 in the nightcap.

In the opener, the Mustangs scored the game’s only runs on Kim Westlund’s RBI single in the top of the fifth inning, scoring Ashley Romano.

Chloe Wurst gave up four hits and struck out three in the complete game win for Cal Poly (14-20-1, 3-2).

In game two, Cal State Fullerton (15-19) took a 2-0 lead when Eliza Crawford hit a two-run home run in the first inning, and the Titans chased Mustangs starter Nicole Innamorato in the second.

However, Jordan Yates entered in relief of Innamorato and gave up just four hits over 51⁄3 shutout innings.

Cal Poly scored one run in the top of the second and two more in the fifth to complete the rally.
