Mustangs lose close one to Portland in women's tennis

Alexa Lee and Jen Cornea picked up wins in singles and doubles, but the Cal Poly women’s tennis team was edged 4-3 by Portland at home.

Alexa Lee and partner Louise Oxnevad won 8-4 in doubles over Valeska Hoath and former San Luis Obispo standout Tori Troesch, before Lee defeated Sabine Fuchs 6-2, 6-2 in singles play.

Cornea and Ané McPike also won 8-4 in doubles, and then Cornea defeated Anatasia Polyakova 6-1, 6-1.

Troesch won in singles 6-2, 6-4 over Anna Klavins.

The Mustangs (3-14) next play at UC Santa Barbara today at noon.
