San Luis Obispo falls to St. Ignatius in baseball

Jake Niezen was 2 for 2 with an RBI and a stolen base in the San Luis Obispo High baseball team’s 5-3 loss to St. Ignatius on Friday.

Jeremy Jess was 2 for 2 with an RBI for the Tigers (5-10).

Nipomo 6, Carpinteria 3

David Stevens (2-1) pitched 41⁄3 innings, striking out five in the win for the Titans.

Nipomo’s Tommy Saenz was 1 for 2 with three RBI, and Matt Albright was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.

Robby Cano pitched the final 22⁄3 innings for the save for the Titans (5-6).
