Kyle Brown pitches Arroyo Grande to baseball win over St. Joseph

Kyle Brown went the distance, striking out six and allowing only one run as the Arroyo Grande High baseball team defeated visiting St. Joseph 2-1 on Thursday.

Brown helped his cause at the plate, hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning for the Eagles.

With the win, Arroyo Grande improves to 5-4-1 on the year and 4-2 in PAC 7 play.

Pioneer Valley 7, Atascadero 3

Joe Johnson was 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI in the loss for the Greyhounds.

Nathan Javine was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Atascadero (6-5-1, 3-2-1 PAC 7).

Royal 3, San Luis Obispo 1

R.J. Hassey hit 1 for 2 with a home run in the fourth inning as the Tigers fell in their own tournament.

San Luis Obispo’s Garrett Giovannelli (2-3) pitched six innings, striking out nine in the loss.

Sinjin Todd was 2 for 3 for the Tigers (5-10).

Mission Prep 18, Coastal Christian 0; 5 innings

Calvin Levisay was 2 for 3 with two RBI and a two-run home run as the Royals cruised past the Crusaders.

Billy Donner was 3 for 4 with four RBI, and Joey Donner was 2 for 2 with four RBI for Mission Prep (5-4).

Mark Marsden struck out seven over three shutout innings in the win for the Royals.
