The Morro Bay Police Department is investigating a series of car burglaries that have occurred in the 1100 to 1200 blocks of Morro Avenue and surrounding streets.

The department received reports that someone had been entering unlocked vehicles parked in the residential area. The cars had been rummaged through and various items stolen, Sgt. Rick Catlett said in a news release.

There are no suspects and the exact time of the burglaries is unknown. Police advise people to lock their cars and keep valuable out of sight.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call 772-6225.
