Cuesta baseball falls to Canyons

The Cuesta College baseball team blew an early lead in a 10-3 loss to visiting College of the Canyons in San Luis Obispo on Wednesday.

The Cougars scored three runs in the bottom of the first and held a 3-2 lead entering the top of the fifth inning. Canyons scored three runs in the fifth and added another in the sixth before scoring two in both the eighth and ninth innings.

Marco Murillo gave up two runs — one earned — on six hits and walked three in 42⁄3 innings in the loss for Cuesta.

Ryan McGuire was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Mac Stuart was 2 for 4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, and Parker Hindle had an RBI double and a run scored for the Cougars.
