Business leaders picked to lead 2013 Central Coast Economic Forecast

A group of local business leaders will lead the 2013 Central Coast Economic Forecast, an event that convenes local leaders each fall to review the area’s economic performance and projections.

Jim Anderson of Phillips 66 Santa Maria Refinery will serve as chair. Other officers include vice chair Candy Markwith of Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center; treasurer Steve Harding of Rabobank and secretary Vivian Robertson of the California Mid-State Fair and Paso Robles Event Center.

The officers lead an all-volunteer board of directors who oversee production of the event. Board members for 2013 include Dick Willhoit of Estrella Associates; Dave Christy of Cal Poly’s Orfalea College of Business; Chris Connors of Wilkins Operation/Zurn Industries; Alan Haile; Maggie Cox of Barnett Cox & Associates; Tom Jones of PG&E; Michael Manchak of the Economic Vitality Corp. of SLO County; Steve McCarty of Stafford-McCarty Commercial Real Estate; Anthony Palazzo of PMSM Architects; Bruce Ray of The Tribune; Anita Robinson of Coast National Bank; Matt Turrentine of Grapevine Capital Partners; and Terry Westrope Ocean Park Hotels, Inc.

Jim Brabeck of Farm Supply Co. and Carroll Pruett of Rabobank serve as directors emeritus.

The Central Coast Economic Forecast is scheduled for Nov. 22, 2013 at the Alex Madonna Expo Center.
