CUHS takes on ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Coast Union High School Drama will present six shows of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” based on Disney’s 1991 movie and the hit Broadway show.

The show boasts a full orchestra, exquisite sets, vibrant costumes and an epic cast to make the classic story unfold on stage.

The cast includes Alex Zaragoza as Belle, Maxx Rivera as the Beast, Mackenna Perryman as Marcelle, Evan Wright as Gaston, Ariel Bruce as Lefou, Jacob Wright as Lumiere, Kylie Castle as Cogsworth, Bennett McManus as Mrs. Potts, Katrina Cleave as Babbette and Courtney Castle as Chip.

The show is produced by Joe and Lani Zaragoza and director Kirk Henning. Tim Rice and Howard Ashmen’s music is directed by Kit Hansen. Dancing is choreographed by Sonya Henning and the orchestra is led by Randall Schwalbe.

Tickets are available at the Cambria Chamber of Commerce, 767 Main St.; at the school office at 2950 Santa Rosa Creek Road; or at the door. Admission is $20 for reserved seating, $10 for general admission and $5 for students and children.

Shows begin at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, April 5, 6, 12 and 13 and at 3 p.m. Sundays, April 7 and 14 in the Coast Union High School gymnasium.
