Brush fire between Morro Bay and Los Osos under control

UPDATE 5:12 p.m.: Cal Fire crews had the blaze under control at around 2:30 p.m.

UPDATE 4:01 p.m.: Cal Fire said the blaze was started by a vehicle that went into a power pole. It is only one acre at the moment. They are at the scene.

Cal Fire and Pacific Gas and Electric are responding to a single car accident between Morro Bay and Los Osos at Turri Road and South Bay Boulevard that has caused downed power lines and a wild fire.

The accident occurred at about 1:54 p.m. when a car struck a power pole and caused downed power lines. No one was injured in the accident but the power lines started a brush fire of undetermined size, according to Cal Fire dispatch.

PG&E crews are en route to de-energize the power lines.
