Sean Hollister won 6-2, 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) for the Arroyo Grande High boys tennis team (10-3, 5-0 PAC 7) in a 9-9 (79-74 tiebreaker) win over San Luis Obispo on Thursday.
Arroyo Grande’s Eli Whittle swept 6-0, 6-1, 6-0, while teammate Derek Lakowske won 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
Eagles coach Lori Hollister said she was “proud of the way the boys fought today. They scrapped for a lot of points and never gave up. San Luis Obispo put forth a great effort.”
San Luis Obispo’s doubles team of Josh Milla and Scott Hicks swept 7-6, 6-1, 6-4. Luke Iunker and Noah Cleere also swept in doubles 6-1, 7-5, 6-1 for the Tigers (6-3, 3-1).
Atascadero 12, St. Joseph 6
Jacob Hass won 6-0, 6-1, and Elias Jordan won 6-1, 6-3 for the Greyhounds (5-7, 2-2 PAC 7).
The doubles team of Ross Schaefer and Jacob Pomi swept 6-2, 6-0, 6-0.
Lompoc 10, Morro Bay 8
Andrew Stella won 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, and Jake Clark won 4-6, 7-5, 8-6 for the Pirates, but they fell in Lompoc.
In doubles, Jeremy Neilson and Taylor Williams won 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 for Morro Bay (1-4, 0-3 LPL).
Templeton 12, Santa Maria 6
Calvin Pinson and Chris Wallace swept in doubles for the Eagles 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, as they defeated the Saints at home.
The doubles team of Tyler Moxley and Johnny Mummert won 6-1, 7-6, 4-6 for Templeton (8-0, 3-0 LPL).
