Here are some animal-related events coming up in San Luis Obispo County:

Fun run or walk with your pup

Dogs can bring their owners for a 4K/2K fun run or walk along the Salinas River trail in Paso Robles at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit group for Sherwood Dog Park.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and is $20 per dog. Participants receive a racer’s goodie bag, event bandana for their dog and a medal. Raffle drawings and contests to follow the run. Rain or shine. Horse camp for kids

Adventures with Gentle Horses children’s camps will be from 9 a.m. to noon April 6 at Heaven Can Wait Equine Sanctuary. Children ages 5 to 12 will learn basic equine manners, body language, safety skills and round pen activities.

Heaven Can Wait is at 6275 Cerros Pioneros in San Miguel. Cost is $25 per child; for families, $15 for the first child, $10 for the second. For more information or to register, visit http://www.prcity.com/recreation.

Fundraiser for dog park

El Chorro Dog Park will hold a fundraising garage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 and 7 at 915 Mesa St., in Morro Bay. All proceeds benefit the dog park. Donations of items for the garage sale are needed.

Wine tasting for Woods

Wine 4 Paws, a fundraising event for Woods Humane Society, will be held at more than 60 participating wineries throughout San Luis Obispo County on April 13 and 14. During the weekend, the Wine 4 Paws wineries will donate a portion of their proceeds to Woods Humane Society.

Adopt a cat in SLO

The Feline Network holds cat and kitten adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at the Petco in the Madonna Plaza Shopping Center in San Luis Obispo. Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated. The adoption fee is $60 for one or $80 for two. A free vet exam is included.
