The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of Sunday’s fatal motorcycle accident in Paso Robles as 44-year-old county resident Brian Stephan Smith.

The single-vehicle accident took place at 1:16 p.m. at 24th Street and Mountain Springs Road. According to Paso Robles police, Smith failed to negotiate a turn and struck a dirt embankment and was ejected from the motorcycle. He suffered major injuries and was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, where he was pronounced dead.
