Cal Poly senior John Prader was named the Big West Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, and junior Blake Ahrold was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for their performances in Saturday’s Cal Poly/ ShareSLO.com Invitational.

Prader set a personal record in the pole vault when he cleared 18 feet, one-half inch and won the event to tie the top reported mark in the country in the event.

Ahrold won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a PR of 9 minutes, 4.31 seconds, also putting himself among the national leaders early in the season.
