Two stalwarts of the 90s alternative rock scene Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls are coming to the California Mid-State Fair this summer.
The bands join an ever-growing entertainment lineup that includes country star Tim McGraw, singer-songwriter John Mayer, country trio Rascal Flatts and '80s pop-rock band Huey Lewis and the News.

Lead singer Rob Thomas has also enjoyed a successful solo career, earning three Grammy Awards for his collaboration with Carlos Santana on the song Smooth.
Goo Goo Dolls is best known for its 1998 song Iris, which held the No. 1 spot on Billboards Hot 100 Airplay chart for 18 consecutive weeks. The band has been nominated for four Grammy Awards.
Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls will co-headline a July 21 concert at the Chumash Main Grandstand Arena at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles.
