Irish folk music duo Young Ireland presents a musical celebration of Irish history and tradition with an evening of original songs and storytelling on Saturday, March 16, the day before St. Patrick’s Day.
Patrick O’Hara and his son Michael, 14, of San Luis Obispo will be joined by special guest Paul Oyler on fiddle.

First- and second-generation Irish Americans with County Mayo roots, the duo writes and performs original songs reflecting the spirit of the Irish struggles and traditions in both Ireland and America from the 1600s to modern day.

“My parents lived in Cambria for about 10 years,” said Patrick O’Hara, “and we have spent lots of wonderful weekends and holidays there, so it’s like coming home.”

The show begins at 7 p.m. at the Pewter Plough Playhouse, 824 Main St. Get tickets, $15, online at brownpapertickets.com and at the door.

A five-minute documentary about the band is online at www.youngirelandmusic.com.
