We are hotly debating both gun laws and drone-based killings without court review. I think they are connected.
The arguments for limiting magazine size, eliminating pistol grips on rifles, etc., are quite compelling, and yet I am hesitant.
Our government regularly executes people, including American citizens, without judicial oversight. It justifies this as war. We indefinitely imprison people captured in this war and deny that they are prisoners of war and deny basic prisoner-of-war guarantees that we treasure for our soldiers. At the same time, we spy on our own citizens and have secret and super-secret courts.
Our government is run amok and threatens to become the very tyranny the Second Amendment was intended to prevent.
Convince me this is not true, and I will support gun control.
