Garage sale, wine tasting are latest fundraisers for our pets

Here is a list of upcoming animal- related events in San Luis Obispo County:

Fundraiser for dog park: El Chorro Dog Park will hold a fundraising garage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6-7 at 915 Mesa St., in Morro Bay. All proceeds benefit the dog park. Donations of items for the garage sale are needed. To donate or for more information about the garage sale, call 543-7213, 528-5465, or 772-1971.

Wine tasting for Woods: Wine 4 Paws, a fundraising event for Woods Humane Society, will be held at more than 60 participating wineries throughout San Luis Obispo County on April 13-14. During the weekend, the Wine 4 Paws wineries will donate a portion of their proceeds to Woods Humane Society. Horse camp for kidsAdventures with Gentle Horses children’s camps will be from 9 a.m. to noon April 6 at Heaven Can Wait Equine Sanctuary. Children ages 5 to 12 will learn basic equine manners, body language, safety skills and round pen activities. Heaven Can Wait is at 6275 Cerros Pioneros in San Miguel. Cost is $25 per child; for families, $15 for the first child, $10 for the second. For more information or to register, visit www.prcity.com/recreation.

Adopt a cat in SLO: The Feline Network holds cat and kitten adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at the Petco in the Madonna Shopping Center in San Luis Obispo. Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated. The adoption fee is $60 for one or $80 for two. A free vet exam is included.
