Letter to the Editor

A flowery thanks

Published: March 4, 2013

A huge bouquet of laurel (glory and success) and freesia (lasting friendship) to “The Language of Flowers” author Vanessa Diffenbaugh for her heartwarming presentation at Cuesta College on Wednesday.

And the same to the Cuesta community for providing the opportunity for so many of us to share this experience, free of charge, from the parking to the author’s presentation to the snacks while waiting in line for the book signing. Many organizations were named as sponsors, so a huge thanks to all of you for helping support the arts here in our county, and also for helping to bring the issues of the foster care system to the forefront of discussion.

From Cuesta President Gil Stork’s personal connections to the novel’s world to the last question from the audience, I was enchanted. What a treat!

Thanks from the Chapter Two Book Club, Trilogy at Monarch Dunes.
