The city of San Luis Obispo is hosting a community workshop at 6 p.m. Monday led by Peter Kageyama, author of the book For the Love of Cities, in community room of the San Luis Obispo City/County Library at 995 Palm St.
Kageyama will talk about the emotional connections that people form with places and his insights on community building and the value of emotional engagement. Elements of the workshop will include an overview of lovable cities, a real-time wall mural of what we love about SLO, designing the citys T-shirt, samples of what people love from around the world, empathy mapping of key demographics and developing local rituals and traditions.
Kageyama is a community and economic development consultant based in St. Petersburg, Fla., and is co-founder of the Creative Cities Summit.
