The Cal Poly men’s swimming team picked up a pair of eighth-place finishes in relays at the first day of competition at the Pac-12 Championships on Sunday in Federal Way, Wash.
Cal Poly’s Mickey Mackle, Mackey Hopen, Luca Casimiro and Aaron McKinnon finished the 200-yard medley in 1 minute, 31.24 seconds. Cal won the race in 1:24.42.
Mackle, McKinnon, Adrian Brynnel and Sonny Fierro finished the 800 freestyle in 6:40.24. USC won at 6:16.88.
The meet continues through Wednesday.
