Evidently we are to believe that mental illness comes and goes as waves in the ocean. Otherwise, how could the prosecuting attorney, her psychiatrist “expert,” and then the jury find Mr. Shumey sane at the time of his crime?

Until the public and the “experts” have a better understanding of mental illness, we will have the persons who are ill be victims of injustice.

Society will continue to suffer as long as ignorance prevails.
