The Coroner's Unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office has identified the girl who died in a rollover near Cuesta College on Sunday morning as Briana Tucci, 17, of Encino.

Investigators say Tucci died as a result of injuries sustained in the 8:50 a.m. accident.

Tucci died after being partially ejected from a Jeep as it drove off Highway 1 into a steep embankment and rolled several times in front of Cuesta College.

The accident was caused by an unintentional, "unsafe turning movement" by driver Sanam Azemoon of Calabasas, CHP Sgt. Danny Koetsier said.

As driver Azemoon, 19, passed Education Drive near the Cuesta College campus, she allowed the car to travel to the right and leave the roadway, police said.

Police do not suspect alcohol or drug use contributed to the crash.

The 2012 Jeep Wrangler was going south from Big Sur on Highway 1 with five occupants when the crash occurred. The three rear passengers were not wearing seatbelts, according to Koetsier.

The other occupants were injured and taken by ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
