Ecologistics Inc. develops, teaches and disseminates solutions to ecological and ecosystem problems, according to a recent news release. For three years it has hosted the annual Central Coast Bioneers Conference, and since 2011 it has promoted the Dreaming the Salinas campaign to spearhead restoration efforts for the Salinas River.

In 2013, Ecologistics will open a community garden and permaculture demonstration garden in Los Osos.

Smith has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and a master’s of science from UC Riverside. She started Abalone Coast Analytical in 2007, specializing in microbiology and general chemistry for all types of water.
